Target Audience Fundamental Training is designed for anyone with little or no experience with KXEN, up through experienced users who want an in-depth refresher that includes new features introduced in recent KXEN releases. This course will also be ideal for those who have experience with other statistical packages, such as SAS or SPSS, and who require a fast introduction to modeling with KXEN. Participants will have the opportunity to become formally certified in KXEN at the end of the two days.
Scripting and Advanced topics is for those who want to start using KXEN scripting to automate modeling and scoring tasks. In addition, we will discuss advanced features selected according to attendee preferences.
Fundamental Course (2 days) - Overview The Fundamental Course provides detailed training on the use of KXEN to develop predictive and descriptive analytical models as well as a basic understanding of the statistical concepts upon which KXEN has been developed.
Beginning with a brief survey of important business applications for analytical modeling, the training will focus upon detailed, hands-on modeling using KXEN. Each participant will be provided access to a computer loaded with KXEN and sample data.
Objectives By the end of the Fundamental Course, you will have learned to:
| |
Recognize important business problems where analytical modeling can help.
| |
| |
Use KXEN classification/regression and segmentation for predictive modeling and understanding data.
| |
| |
Prepare data from databases using the primary KXEN data manipulation facilities (SQL not required)
| |
| |
Apply KXEN models to score data from a database, flat file, or SAS.
| |
| |
Use KXEN's Time Series and Association Rules modules for these types of problems.
Prerequisites Familiarity with the concepts and goals of analytical modeling.
Fundamental Course Content The Fundamental Course will be conducted over a two day period. The following topics will be presented in detail and demonstrated using sample data and exercises:
